After neglecting my nails for the past few months, I decided it was time to get back into my routine. But where to start? That's when I discovered the latest nail trend: "lip gloss" nails. Celebrity nail artist Holly Falcone describes them as ultrashiny, glossy, and almost jelly-like finishes that are trending this winter. I was sold on the sheer pink version, and I couldn't wait to try it myself.

Trying the Trend

To try the trend, I went to my local nail salon and showed the nail tech an inspiration photo. I originally had a different color in mind, but she suggested I try the IBD Just Gel Polish in Seashell Pink instead. I trusted her judgment, and I'm glad I did.

After getting my nails back in shape with a little TLC for my cuticles and a trim to fix the chips and breaks, the tech applied a base coat. Then, she applied a thin layer of the Seashell Pink polish and let it cure. The color was impossibly glossy and shiny, but we decided to add another layer for a more opaque look. After curing and adding a top coat, I was done.

The Result

The final result was a beautiful, sheer, glossy pink color that looked like I had applied my favorite lip gloss to my nails. I was obsessed with how it turned out. It's elegant, sophisticated, and fun all at the same time.
