Ice Spice recently addressed the misconception surrounding her hair color in a chat with MTV. Holding up an old high school picture of herself with long, straight, jet black hair, she confirmed that this was her natural hair color. "My hair's always been curly since I was born," she explained, pointing to the old picture. "A lot of people think that my hair is naturally straight and that I wear like a curly wig or something, but my hair was straightened this day."

A Journey of Hair Transformations

While Ice Spice is no stranger to rocking wigs and experimenting with different hairstyles, she often chooses to dye her natural curls in her favorite copper or ginger-brown shade. In an interview with British Vogue, she revealed, "Besides the current curly short 'fro, I've had pretty much every hairstyle in the book. And every time I change my hair, I look like a different person."

Ice Spice has tried it all, from curly wigs to straight wigs, short wigs to long wigs, braids to swoops. However, she always finds herself coming back to her natural curls. "I tried everything and just got back to square one," she said.

In a candid chat with Erykah Badu for Interview Magazine, she revealed, "When I started putting music out, I was wearing wigs a lot. I didn't show my natural hair until I put out 'No Clarity' in November 2021. I noticed it was doing so much better than all my previous work. I don't think my fan base was ready for me to be in heels and a lace front. I think they like that I'm being myself."
