Painted Desert Cactus Gelly Plus
The Painted Desert Cactus Gelly Plus is, in my humble opinion, one of the best gel nail products for beginners. Its viscosity is perfect for me; it’s not too thick, not too runny, making it my Goldilocks for builder gel and full coverage nail tip adhesion. I’ve tried other products, such as Orly Builder in a Bottle and Nailive Solid Nail Glue (I accidentally referred to this as Saviland in my video), which are nice, but Cactus Gelly Plus is the best!
Daily Charme Black and White Almond Tips
The Daily Charme Black & White Almond Tips are great to start with because it helps expand your nail color collection, makes neons pop, will speed up your manicure process if you want to do nail art, and look great if you want chic black or white nails. I’ve got a few different styles of tips from Daily Charme. I love my Painted Desert tips as well! This tip set is one of the best gel nail products for beginners.
Orly Nail Tip Primer
Orly’s Nail Tip Primer has been a valued player in my gel nail collection. Works like a charm!
Apres Gel-X Prep
Apres Gel-X Prep makes preparing my full coverage tips for application easy and it’s one of the best gel nail products for beginners! I don’t have to file the insides anymore. You paint this inside and it will scuff up the inside of the full coverage tips so that they will adhere firmly.
Purple LED UV Lamp
I purchased my Purple LED UV Lamp in June of 2020, and not a single light has gone out. It’s running long and strong! I love it, even if I’ve made a mess of the inside of it.
Gooseneck LED UV Desklamp
I tried two branded flash cure lights before giving up and using a retro Gooseneck LED UV Desklamp that clamps onto my desk. This Gooseneck lamp is an affordable and easy way to flash cure tips on your own, making it one of the best gel nail products for beginners.
Makartt E-File and Handfiles
My Makartt E-File is easy to use with its foot pedal or manual adjustment on speed. And the Handfile is perfect! I’ve tried several but it’s my favorite, making it one of the best gel nail products for beginners. I use the handfile for manicure prep and shaping my nails. I use the e-file almost entirely to start my nail removal process, as well as clean up any spillage.
Nail Wipes
Lint-free Nail Wipes are a must when you’re working with gel polish! You don’t want little fibers sticking out of your gel.
Daily Charme Unichrome Unicorn Powder
Perhaps the most magical product in my entire selection of the best gel nail products for beginners is the Daily Charme Unichrome Unicorn Powder. I love this product so much! Use an eyeshadow sponge to rub this on top of a chrome effect gel layer.
Unicorn Powder in Action
It’s so pretty! I used it for these unicorn glazed donut inspired nails!
The Best Way to Remove Gel Polish
Last but certainly not least in my best gel nail products for beginners is my Madam Glam Gel Nail Polish Remover. After I e-file off my topcoat and sometimes the polish too, I put a thick layer of this remover on my nails, set a 10 minute timer, and wait for it to work its magic. After the timer goes off, I use a metal cuticle pusher to scrape off the gel. If there’s any gel left, I repeat and do it again. Then I use an orange stick to remove anything that is left behind.
Final Thoughts
I love doing my own nails at home! I used to pay $90 or more for my nails, and now I can do it myself. I’m having fun learning new techniques and trying new products. What do you think of doing your own nails? Have you ever tried gel nail polish or gel nail tips? What are your picks for the best gel nail products for beginners?
